Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms govern your use of YardHub, the equine yard management platform operated by YardHub (Pty) Ltd ("YardHub", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using YardHub, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, if you're setting up a yard's account, on behalf of that yard.

1. The service

YardHub helps yards manage horse care scheduling, operations, billing records, team access, and related record-keeping. Accounts are currently provisioned by us — if you'd like a yard set up, or access added for someone on your team, contact us or ask your yard's administrator.

2. Accounts and access

  • You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • A yard's administrators and owners control what each team member can see and do within that yard, using YardHub's Access Permissions.
  • We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or poses a security risk to the platform or other users.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use YardHub for anything unlawful, or to store information you don't have the right to store (e.g. someone else's personal information without a lawful basis to process it)
  • Attempt to bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with the platform's normal operation
  • Share your login credentials, or use another person's account without authorisation
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to extract data at a scale or in a manner inconsistent with normal use

4. Your data, your yard's data

Your yard owns the information it enters into YardHub about its horses, staff, and the people connected to them. We process it on the yard's behalf to provide the service, as set out in our Privacy Policy. When a yard's account ends, we retain that data only for the periods described in our Privacy Policy, after which it is permanently deleted.

5. Subscriptions and billing

New yards typically begin on a pilot programme at no charge, for a fixed trial period communicated at sign-up. Paid subscription plans, pricing, and billing terms will be set out separately once available and will supplement these terms — we'll make sure that's clear before anything is charged.

6. Availability

We aim to keep YardHub available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the platform down temporarily for maintenance, and we'll try to keep that to a minimum and communicate it where practical.

7. Liability

YardHub is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, YardHub (Pty) Ltd isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited, including liability arising from our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

YardHub is a record-keeping and scheduling tool, not a substitute for professional veterinary judgment. Care decisions remain the responsibility of the yard and the relevant care practitioner.

8. Termination

Either party may end the relationship at any time, subject to any separate subscription agreement in place. On termination, your yard's data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy's retention section.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as YardHub evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and make reasonable efforts to notify yards of material changes.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
